Electors of the Division of Oodgeroo draws to the attention of the House the recent decision to relocate the resident North Stradbroke Island former QFES Officer to duties based on the mainland. The replacement officer allocated to the Island is only available during business hours and this has the potential to be critical in urgent circumstances should fires break out after-hours, like those witnessed in recent events.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to reinstate the basing of a 24/7 Queensland Fire and Emergency Services Officer on North Stradbroke Island to ensure responsiveness of service and faster coordination processes.
