TO: The Honourable the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland

Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House that voters have to contact their local councils to have tree protection orders introduced but have been told the matter is for the state government not councils.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to enact laws to ensure all trees over 25 years of age are protected from lopping or felling or removal. Allowances would need to be made for those trees that ae damaged by storm or accident, or diseased in some way.
