The petition of residents of the State of Queensland draws to the attention of the House the continued support of Greyhound racing in Queensland and funding of new tracks and facilities. We ask the Queensland Government to stop the taxpayer contribution of at least $53 million to the Racing Infrastructure Fund set up to bankroll industry projects. We oppose all new tracks that endanger the lives of both animals and humans, especially those which are relying on taxpayer funding. We ask you to shut down greyhound racing tracks in Queensland as they are a high risk to animal welfare. These companies profit from animal cruelty and add to the issue of problem gambling in Queensland.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to stop supporting greyhound racing and animal cruelty in Queensland, withdraw funding, and work towards shutting the greyhound industry down.
