Queensland citizens draws to the attention of the House that Professor David Goodall of South Australia had to go to Switzerland at the age of 104 to end his life. An Australian shouldn't have to move overseas to peacefully end their life. Queenslanders at the moment have to do what Professor Goodall did and many just can't afford to do that.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to bring in voluntary euthanasia legislation so that Queenslanders who are dying, who are in incurable pain, have medical problems that make living not worthwhile can legally end their life surrounded by their family, their doctors and their loved ones.
