The petition of citizens of Queensland draws to the attention of the House that the existing single lane Six Mile Creek Bridge in Noosa Shire constitutes an extreme safety hazard due to high traffic levels and large vehicle traffic and is regularly closed over summer for periods in excess of 36 hours due to flooding with no safe alternative route for the public or emergency vehicles, and further that this situation has existed for many years.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to provide immediate funding for the widening to two lanes and raising by at least one metre the existing Six Mile Creek Bridge, located on the Pomona-Kin Kin Road in Noosa Shire.
