TO: The Honourable the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland

Queensland citizens draws to the attention of the House the Department of Transport and Main Roads' decision to install solar panels on land adjoining the Oxenford Tavern rather than installing a slip lane to ease congestion and allow motorists easier access to the M1 motorway.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to: can the Minister please intervene and stop installation of the solar panels at exit 57 of the M1 Pacific Motorway and install a slip lane on this land to ease traffic congestion at the intersection. Additionally, if the Department is legally committed to purchase panels, we call on the Minister to re-direct their deployment to the nearest Department of Education school, Oxenford State School, to help relieve their electricity cost burden.
