Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House the lack of transport options available for over 7,000 residents on Tamborine Mountain. The locality is 30 minutes away from any major transport precinct and this presents challenges for residents who do not own their own vehicle and cannot drive themselves or rely on others to do so. Tamborine Mountain is home to an ageing demographic and with no reliable form of transport to take residents from their homes to major public transport precincts.

Your petitioners, therefore request the House to:

1. Immediately introduce a Demand Responsive Transport (DRT) trial that would connect residents from Tamborine Mountain to the major public transport precinct at Helensvale Transport Interchange;

2. Upon successful completion of the DRT trial, introduce the program as a permanent transport option for residents of Tamborine Mountain.
