TO: The Honourable the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland

Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House the urgent need for an upgrade of Exit 45 south bound, including a slip lane to allow traffic to “slip” back on to Lahrs Road, that doesn't require vehicles to go through the roundabout. In addition, there is an urgent need for a second, more southerly off ramp, immediately south of the Pimpama River Bridge, that can take pressure off the current exit. Congestion occurs every afternoon in peak periods at Exit 45, causing ramping back on to the M1 which is a serious safety issue.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to do all in its power to ensure the State Government undertakes improvements to the operation of this dangerous interchange as a matter of upmost urgency, before lives are lost.
