Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House the urgent need to prioritise riverbank reinforcement works upstream of the John Muntz Bridge at Upper Coomera.
A recent flood event eroded away the riverbank upstream of John Muntz Bridge resulting in the connection road being washed away. The Coomera River riverbank will continue to be vulnerable and suffer further erosion if no reinforcement works are undertaken, thus placing the connection road at further risk of failure.
Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to prioritise riverbank reinforcement works upstream of the John Muntz Bridge connection road before the next wet season or sooner.
