Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House the urgent need to secure the safety of victims of domestic and family violence by ensuring witnesses are obligated to report or attempt to prevent serious indictable offences such as serious assault or murder.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to consider changes to legislation which make it an offence for any person, who is a witness to the commission of a serious indictable offence, to fail to report the commission of the offence and/or to fail to do anything within their power to stop the offence from being committed or continuing.
