The petition of residents of the State of Queensland draws to the attention of the House the need for an "off peak hour" public transport link to service the needs of elderly residents at the Sugarwood Grove Garden Villas Estate at Moggill.

Many of the elderly residents are unable to walk the distance from the Estate to catch the 444 bus. The current 444 bus service which runs from the Cultural Centre at South Brisbane, travelling via the Brisbane City Translink Bus Tunnel to Toowong, Indooroopilly. Chapel Hill, Kenmore, Pinjarra Hills, Pullenvale, Bellbowrie to Moggill could be diverted to Sugarwood Grove Garden Villas - corner Sugarwood Street and Weekes Road. This particular service would enhance the independence, morale and well being of these senior citizens significantly.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to take whatever action is practicable to cause a diversion in the 444 bus route to include Sugarwood Grove Garden Villas.
