TO: The Honourable the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland

The petition of residents of the State of Queensland draws to the attention of the House the requirement for an urgent upgrade of Dakabin Train Station.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to upgrade the station including increasing and updating the car parking; adding facilities such as a water bubbler; creating access to the station for all residents including those with disabilities and parents with prams; and providing bus services to and from the station. At present, the station does not comply with the Disability Discrimination Act 1992. Dakabin Train Station requires disabled access to both platforms, disabled car parks, appropriate disability access from car park to platform, and bus services to and from the station.
