Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House the deeply disturbing fact that the incidence and severity of domestic violence is increasing every day in our community and that urgent law reform is required.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to enact laws which:

1.    increases penalites for people who breach domestic violence orders;

2.    increases police powers to enforce domestic violence orders and respond to every and any breach - no matter the circumstances;

3.    increases support for victims of domestic violence through the "victims of crime support scheme".
