Electors of the Division of Murrumba draws to the attention of the House that the upgrade to the Moreton Bay Rail Link and establishment of a station at Rothwell will severely impact on motorists using the Rothwell Roundabout on Deception Bay Road and Anzac Avenue.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to prioritise funding for redesigning and upgrading the roundabout.  That this work should overlap with the construction of the Rothwell Railway Station which is scheduled to be operational by 2016.  That the House recognises that improvements to the Rothwell roundabout will significantly reduce congestion as well as increase safety for motorists, pedestrians and cyclists.
