TO: The Honourable the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland

The petition of citizens of Queensland draws to the attention of the House the damaging impact of increased use of water craft, including personal water craft (jet skis), on the Pumicestone Passage and tributaries, relative to expanded recreational use generated by existing and projected population growth in the region.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to urgently identify, support and resource the implementation of all necessary measures within a comprehensive, collaborative, Management Plan that must ensure the future health of protected ecosystems and wildlife, enjoyment and amenity of residents and tourists, and safety of passive users of the waterways.
