TO: The Honourable the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland
The petition of citizens of Queensland draws to the attention of the House to the severe hardships being faced by many Queenslanders following the recent natural disasters and the need to assist and encourage the recovery of our towns following those disasters.
Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to declare an immediate moratorium on the shedding of any jobs from all government departments and agencies.
Further we seek an immediate moratorium on the transfer or sale of any government services to non-government organisations.
