TO: The Honourable the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland

The petition of residents of the State of Queensland draws to the attention of the House that local historical research calls for a more appropriate historic name for the northern side of East Brisbane.

Your petitioners, therefore request the House to consider changing the name for the northern part of East Brisbane (bound by Mowbray Terrace, Wellington Road, Mowbray Park, the Brisbane River and Norman Creek, including Heath Park and Churchie) to Mowbraytown.
