Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House the need for the Newman Government to rule out the closure of the Alexandra Hills TAFE campus.

Alex Hills TAFE provides tertiary education to a large number of students in courses in senior studies, business and justice, hairdressing, children's services and health studies.  The TAFE College is far too important to the local community to close.  It has been serving the people of the Redlands since 1987 and is very much a part of the local area.  It is the only tertiary education facility in the Redlands and has ensured that locals, young and old, have had the opportunity to train and re-train to ensure their futures.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to seek an assurance from the Government that it will not close the Alexandra Hills TAFE campus.
