TO: The Honourable the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland

Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House the axing of the Community Memorial Restoration Program in the lead up to the centenary of ANZAC Day is short-sighted and detrimental to community organisations planning to renovate memorials and restore military graves prior to 2015.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House that the Community Memorial Restoration Program be reinstated and be reviewed after the centenary of ANZAC Day, with a priority placed on projects with a strong association with World War I in the meantime.
