The petition of residents of the State of Queensland draws to the attention of the House that we strongly object to the proposed Park Ridge Connector Road (Gateway Motorway extension from Browns Plains to Granger Road and further south  of Granger Road to possibly Camp Cable Road) as identified in the SEQ Regional Plan and the Draft Connecting SEQ 2031.  There has been inadequate community consultation and the environmental assessment has not been completed by Logan City Council or the State Government.  There are at least two State declared bioregional corridors which are threatened by this road proposal - Karawatha to Flinders Peak Corridor and Jerry's Downfall/Chambers Creek/Flesser Reserve.  the proposed Park Ridge Connector Road is socially destructive and will divide existing communities.  We declare that there is no viable corridor.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to immediately remove the proposed Park Ridge Connector Road from the SEQ Regional Plan and the Draft Connecting SEQ 2031 as there is no viable corridor.
