The petition of electors of the Division of Gladstone draws to the attention of the House the urgent need for increased staffing and service levels for the Gladstone Base Hospital.  A fully functioning ICU and surgical facilities are urgently required in Gladstone as the local population is increasing at an unprecedented rate. The possibility of serious industrial accidents is increasing alarmingly, and the Gladstone Hospital facilities are such that any serious cases must be taken to Rockhampton.

Your petitioners therefore request the House to urgently upgrade the staffing levels and facilities to ensure that the Gladstone Hospital is able to fully service such a large and rapidly growing industrial city.
