The petition of residents of Queensland draws to the attention of the House the fact that Queensland Pensioner Concession and Seniors Card Holders have not been granted a rebate for the use of metered liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG).  This, we consider, is an anomaly as we are receiving discounts for the other major utilities.  Fixed charges have been factored into the purchase price of all homes connected to metered LPG, and we are also paying for supply, similar to Natural Gas users, so we fail to understand why there is disparity between reticulated Natural Gas and reticulated metered LPG connections.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to earnestly consider granting all Queensland Pensioner Concession and Seniors Card Holders an appropriate rebate for the use of metered Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG).
