Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House to the lack of protection from mining exploration for rural residences and towns under population of 1,000 in the State Government's proposed legislation.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to:

  1. ensure that rural residences be permitted to have a 2 km exclusion zone if requested by the residents and;
  2. communities of under 1,000 population and designated as a town, have the same protection as those over a population of 1,000 people.
