The petition of residents of the State of Queensland draws to the attention of the House the difficulties faced by residents of the Keperra Sanctuary Retirement Village when crossing Samford Road to catch inbound buses to the City, when entering and leaving the Village in their cars, and when travelling in their cars to the City.

Your petitioners therefore request the House to ensure the Department of Transport and Main Roads:

1. Improves safety associated with pedestrians crossing Samford Road in the vicinity of the Keperra Sanctuary Retirement Village;
2. Reviews the current traffic speed limit of 70 kmh on Samford Road; and
3. Provides a vehicular u-turn facility at the intersection of Keperra Street and Samford Road for Village residents travelling in-bound to the City.
