TO: The Honourable the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland
The petition of residents of the State of Queensland draws to the attention of the House to the inadequate environmental monitoring into the brine output from the Tugun Desalination Plant. The petitioners believe brine output is having a detrimental affect on marine life and salinity levels around the output pipe and as a matter of urgency, they request independent monitoring be introduced.
