The petition residents of the State of Queensland draws to the attention of the House the malicious damage caused by graffiti vandals on Queensland Rail property and the negative impact that that graffiti vandalism causes to the community’s perception of safety. In the interests of community safety your petitioners therefore request the House to call on the Queensland government and Queensland Rail to resolutely deal with the malicious damage caused by graffiti offenders and take action to:1. immediately remove existing graffiti vandalism along rail corridors, railway stations and train carriages; and 2. develop and implement a long-term strategy to ensure rail assets and adjacent properties are better protected and less likely to be targeted by graffiti vandals.
