TO: The Honourable the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland
Queensland citizens draws to the attention of the House the diminishing number of dingoes on Fraser Island due to food restrictions, culling, four-wheel drive vehicles, ear tagging resulting in abandonment of pups under 6 months of age and fires being lit during birthing season.Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to ensure the destruction of Fraser Island dingoes ceases including problem animals under 18 months of age; hazing to cease; cease tagging dingoes under 12 months of age; introduce controlled random food drops; no burn-offs during birthing season; and obtain signed statements from witnesses on problem dingoes before killing.
