The petition of citizens of Queensland calls on the State Government to introduce a 'School Speed Zone' on Moggill Road around Kenmore State School and Our Lady of the Rosary School during morning and afternoon pick-up and drop-off times to protect the safety of our school children. Your petitioners draw to the attention of the House the need to ensure the safety of the many students of these schools who cross busy Moggill Road each day so that an accident is prevented from occurring. We note that many other schools around Brisbane have similar 'School Speed Zone' provisions in place to reduce the speed limit to 40 km/h during these times.
