The petition of the residents of North West Queensland of the State of Queensland draws to the attention of the House that the operating theatre of the Hughenden Health Centre has been decommissioned. Your petitioners therefore request the House to immediately recommission and upgrade the operating theatre. This is a matter of urgency, to relieve the pressure off Townsville Health Services for elective and minor surgeries. Your petitioners also request that Queensland Health make it a priority to appoint a flying surgeon to service regional and rural areas of North West Queensland.
