The petition of residents of the State of Queensland draws to the attention of the House that we, the undersigned, support PAGE (Powerlines Action Group Eumundi Inc) in its assessment and research of alternatives to the proposed by Powerlink Woolooga to South Cooroy Transmission Line and Substation Project. We believe there are more sustainable and cleaner solutions to the supply of energy for today and future demands. Queensland and in particular, the Sunshine Coast should be leading the way in generating power through solar energy as we are the Sunshine State. Your petitioners therefore request the House to: 1. Implement policies which support a cleaner, greener alternative to Powerlink’s proposal. 2. Implement policies which support initiatives that ensure a sustainable future for all Sunshine Coast residents, vegetation and wildlife.
