The petition of citizens of Queensland draws to the attention of the House the problems associated with the trading of the Metropole Hotel Brisbane Street Ipswich on Friday and Saturday nights to 3:00am in each case; and consisting of undue offence, annoyance, disturbance and inconvenience to persons who reside in the locality of the hotel and the lessening of the amenity, quiet and good order of the locality; and the last of a means for persons who reside in the locality of the hotel to redress the problems. Your petitioners therefore, request the House to immediately redress the problems by providing a scheme in the Liquor Act that will enable persons who reside in the locality of the hotel to seek an effective remedy through the Chief Executive at any time.
