The petition of citizens of Queensland draws to the attention of the House to protracted wage negotiations at Government Owned Corporations, ENERGEX, Ergon Energy and Powerlink Queensland, that have been purposely delayed in respect to the approval to bargain being granted through the Cabinet Budget Review Committee (CBRC) process. This has now led to a situation where Union members employed by these GOC's are now months behind in negotiations whilst, at the same time, being asked to accept an offer that is 0.3% below the Consumer Price Index. Your petitioners therefore request the House to immediately resolve this dispute by way of a wage offer that truly reflects market rates, in line with decisions Government has already made in respect to the appointment of other Senior Government Officers who were deemed to have been paid below market rates. Further, given the delays in the CBRC process, we demand that these Union members receive retrospective payments from the nominal expiry dates of their respective Agreements.
