The petition of citizens whose signatures appear below draws the attention of the House to the strong possibility of the Government of Queensland constructing a dam at Tilley’s Bridge, Rathdowney. This is not a high rainfall area and the proposed dam will severely impact on the lives of the residents of Rathdowney and surrounding districts. The social, environmental and economic effects will be detrimental to the community.
Your petitioners therefore request the House to decide not to proceed with the construction of a dam at Tilley’s Bridge, Rathdowney.
