Eligibility - Residents of the State of Queensland4/13 Dorchester Street
SOUTH BRISBANE QLD 4101
The petition of residents of the state of Queensland draws to the attention of the House that (a) Australian governments have in recent years introduced much new legislation related to terrorism; (b) social cohesion and a strong civil society, the responsible management of the world's natural resources, along with refraining from illegal acts of war and invasion against other countries, are the best prevention against terrorism; (c) the legislation that’s been introduced is ineffective but instead erodes people’s civil rights thereby worsening social cohesion and civil society; and that (d) the Federal Government intends to introduce new ‘anti-terror’ legislation.
Your petitioners therefore request the House to: (a) introduce a bill of rights and other legislation that enshrines people’s rights to live without unjust interference from local and the State governments (b) actively oppose with legal and political action the Federal Government’s present and future legislative plans with regard to terrorism; (c) actively support good governance in Queensland that bolsters in the long- term social equality, social cohesion and a strong civil society.
