TO: The Honourable the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland
The petition of residents of the State of Queensland draws to the attention of the House the following. We deplore the placement of the bulky two storey floating restaurant on the foreshore of the Noosa River opposite Thomas Street, Noosaville. We consider the visual impact of this structure to be alien to the character and environment of this area of the Noosa River. We deplore the inadequacy of the State and Local Government regulatory processes that enabled approval to be given to this project.
Your petitioners therefore request the House to ensure that the approval for this floating restaurant is not used as a precedent for similar projects on the Noosa River.
