The petition of residents of the State of Queensland draws to the attention of the House the increasing violence and vandalism against residents and business in Nambour, instigated by youth, vagrants and other irresponsible persons. This is resulting in recurring expense, inconvenience and spiralling insurance costs within the Nambour CBD and environs.
Your petitioners therefore request the House to provide an increased police presence in the Nambour CBD and establish a 24 hour Police Beat to target vandalism, theft, violence and disorderly behaviour.
