TO: The Honourable the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland
The petition of citizens of Queensland draws to the attention of the House the banning of fishing activity from the Herbert River Bridge at Halifax.
Your petitioners therefore request the House that alternative safety measures be investigated to allow fishing activity to continue from the bridge while ensuring the safety of pedestrians and as an immediate measure ensure a speed limit of 60kph is introduced for the bridge and its approaches.
