The petition of the citizens of Queensland draws to the attention of the House the plight of people in North Queensland who are absolutely amazed that due to criminal negligence, a person can have his livelihood taken away by the irresponsible actions of three people who decided to burn his excavator leaving him without his livelihood, resulting in a loss of income and driving into near bankruptcy; and the law courts administering a 12 month intensive correction order and six month intensive correction order to the offenders.

Your petitioners therefore request the House to call for the Government to adopt more stringent laws to stop these crimes from occurring.
