The Petition of residents of the State of Queensland draws to the attention of the House that current laws permit the deliberate termination of innocent unborn human life on demand, resulting in thousands of abortions each year without adequate protection for the child from conception. Your petitioners hold that every human being, from the moment of conception, possesses inherent dignity and the right to life, and that no justification exists for the intentional ending of that life except in the extremely rare circumstances where the mother's life is directly and imminently threatened by continuation of the pregnancy. Queensland's Termination of Pregnancy Act fails to uphold this fundamental principle, allowing widespread abortion that disregards the humanity of the unborn and treats them as disposable.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to legislate an outright ban on abortion, prohibiting it in all circumstances except when necessary to save the mother's life in the event of a health emergency, and to establish robust support for women in unplanned pregnancies, including crisis counselling, financial aid, and adoption pathways.
