The Petition of residents of the State of Queensland draws to the attention of the House their concerns regarding the safety of students, caregivers, and staff who cross Alice Street to access Sunbury State School. Residents of Maryborough are particularly concerned about the increasing volume of traffic and the risk it poses to all members of the community who need to cross this busy road. The installation of crossing traffic lights would provide a safe and reliable way for pedestrians to cross Alice Street each day.
Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to install crossing traffic lights on Alice Street, Maryborough, in the vicinity of Sunbury State School.
