TO: The Honourable the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland
The Petition of citizens of Queensland draws to the attention of the House the lack of awareness and punishment for those who commit animal abuse.
Your petitioners would like to bring this matter to the attention of the House and cause the public disclosure of those who have been found guilty of acts of animal abuse.
This will provide much needed transparency to those looking to sell, rehome or adopt out animals. It will highlight the repeat offenders for law enforcement and give a foundation to stricter punishment.
Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to do all in its power to cause the disclosure of and keep an updated public list of animal abuse offenders for Queensland.
