The Petition of residents of the State of Queensland draws to the attention of the House that there is no minimum period in which new citizens must wait until they can legally apply for a weapons licence.
Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to bring in legislation that means new citizens to Australia must wait 5 years before they can apply for a weapon license.
