TO: The Honourable the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland
The Petition of residents of the State of Queensland draws to the attention of the House the high cost of insurance and that it cannot be afforded by many residents. There appears to be a double tax on every policy, 10% Stamp duty, and 10% GST. This is both unfair and un-Australian.
Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to do all in its power to abolish Stamp Duty or GST from any and all insurance policies.
