4374-26 Removal of ongoing speed restriction on the east bound Mt Crosby to Dinmore section of the Warrego Highway that have been in place for the infrequent movement of windfarm components
Eligibility - Citizens of Queensland24 Oxley Drive

The Petition of citizens of Queensland draws to the attention of the House that Transport and Main Roads (TMR) has imposed speed limits along the Warrego Highway, heading east from the Mount Crosby to Warrego Highway onramp over the Bremer Bridge and past the Dinmore offramp exit.
The current speed restriction of 70 km/h then 80 km/h has no safety bearing on the integrity of the Bremer Bridge itself, it was only introduced to accommodate the transportation of windfarm components along this section whenever this may occur.
This speed restriction has been in place for many months and is causing unnecessary traffic congestion along this section of the Warrego Highway, including the onramp from Mount Crosby and safety concerns when drivers wish to exit at the Dinmore off ramp.
Drivers and local residents have become frustrated as TMR refuses to only reduce the speed limits at the times windfarm components need to travel that section of the highway.
Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to:
- Instruct Transport and Main Roads (TMR) to reinstate the former 100 km/h speed limit along the Warrego Highway, heading east from the Mount Crosby to Warrego Highway onramp over the Bremer Bridge and past the Dimore offramp exit.
- TMR to only reduce the speed limits at the times windfarm components need to travel that section of the highway.
