Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House that lives are being lost, serious injuries are occurring and damage to property is happening with no accountability to cyclists, e-bike riders and e-scooter riders. Currently children are using these modes of transport not knowing the road rules and the possible consequences.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to do all within its power to ensure the Minister of Education implements primary school level of road safety education for pedestrians and cyclists into the curriculum; and year 10 level road safety education on the use of e-bikes and e-scooters in line with the current legal age of 16 years-of-age as part of the school curriculum.
