TO: The Honourable the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland
Queensland citizens draws to the attention of the House the serious concerns raised by current and former Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service (WBHHS) staff, patients and community members regarding the operation of the WBHHS. Some concerns include:
- an alleged culture of bullying, fear and intimidation;
- endemic issues around behaviour, performance, and accountability;
- alleged financial mismanagement; and
- serious allegations into patient death and harm and the subsequent flawed investigation into medical wards 2 and 3 at the Bundaberg Hospital.
Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to ensure a full and independent investigation is undertaken to address the matters raised above.
