TO: The Honourable the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland
Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House the:
- lack of vehicle passing lanes between Miles and Roma (distance of 140km), and to the west between Roma and Mitchell on the Warrego Highway;
- lack of a vehicle slip lane at the Warrego Highway Jackson Wandoan intersection for traffic travelling east; and
- need to lower the speed limit from 80km/h to 60km/h at Muckadilla.
Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to do all within their power to improve the safety of the Warrego Highway by:
- construction of at least two passing lanes between Miles and Roma, and at least one passing lane near Hodgson and others between Roma and Mitchell;
- constructing a slip lane at the Jackson Wandoan intersection for traffic travelling east; and
- lowering the speed limit to 60km/h at Muckadilla.
