TO: The Honourable the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland

Queensland residents draw to the attention of the House the need to establish sun-safe areas and walkways for students at Pimpama State School. Queensland climate, characterised by high heat, UV conditions and frequent rain, necessitates better protective infrastructure to ensure the health, well-being and safety of the students.

Providing shaded areas will protect students from harmful UV rays, reducing the risk of sunburn and long-term skin damage.

Covered walkways will keep students dry during rain, preventing discomfort and illness.

Sun-safe areas will encourage outdoor play and physical activities without the risk of heat-related health issues.

Safe and protected infrastructure will contribute to a better learning environment, allowing students to move between classes comfortably and securely.

Investing in these sun-safe areas and walkways is essential for maintaining a safe and conducive learning atmosphere.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to do all in its power to ensure sun-safe areas and walkways at Pimpama State School to create a supportive environment that promotes the overall well-being of the students.
