Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House the urgent need for the replacement of outdated classroom furniture and the essential upgrades to playground facilities at Woongoolba State School. The current classroom furniture, which has not been replaced in 25 years, no longer meets the needs of modern, 21st century learning environments. A recent audit revealed that the investment of over $257,000 is required to ensure equity and excellence in classroom furniture, which is crucial for enhancing student learning and engagement.

In addition, the playgrounds are in dire need of maintenance to meet Workplace Health and Safety standards. An audit has identified over $180,000 worth of necessary repairs to ensure the longevity of these play areas for the school students. Upgrading the playgrounds will provide a safe and stimulating environment, essential for the physical and social development of the students.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to do all in its power to provide replacement classroom furniture and upgraded playground facilities at Woongoolba State School. Investing in the Woongoolba State Schools infrastructure will greatly benefit the students and community, ensuring a safe, equitable, and excellent learning environment for current and future generations.
