TO: The Honourable the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland
Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House that recently Paris, France announced they would be increasing parking fees for SUV/4WD vehicles to encourage owners to keep them out of the city. Parking fees are a local council matter and cannot be modified by the State Government.
Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to double the registration fees for SUVS and 4WDs owned and housed in our major cities such as Brisbane, Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast. No changes should be made for rural and regional areas.
